Tai Ji Quan - Qi Gong
How to prepare for the classes?

Guidelines, advice and agreements:

At Shun Wu Tang Center, we strive to create a respectful, safe, and inspiring environment where each student can grow at their own pace. The following guidelines are here to support your well-being and ensure a harmonious experience for all.

1. Before Class

  • Please arrive on time — ideally at least 5 minutes early — to help settle into a calm and focused state.

  • Wear comfortable clothing that allows for free movement, and flat, flexible shoes suitable for internal martial arts practice.

  • Indoor practice shoes should be clean and used only inside the training area. Please ensure good personal hygiene out of respect for the group.

  • Avoid eating for at least two hours before class. If needed, a light meal or snack is acceptable.

  • You are welcome to bring a bottle of warm water or herbal tea to stay hydrated in a gentle way.

  • Help us keep the training space clean and orderly by handling your belongings with care and leaving the room as you found it.

  • If you arrive after the class has started, please enter quietly and join without disturbing others. Frequent late arrivals may be addressed privately.

2. During Class

  • Practice with mindfulness, self-awareness, and care. Do not push beyond your personal limits.

  • Maintain silence during class to preserve a peaceful and concentrated atmosphere.

  • Questions are welcome, but please save them for the end of class or wait for the teacher to open space for discussion.

  • Please turn off or silence your phone during all Shun Wu Tang activities.

  • Out of respect for the teacher, fellow students, and the tradition, we ask that you approach the training space with a calm and respectful attitude.

3. Participation and Health

  • These classes are designed for general health promotion, personal development, and structured learning, and do not constitute medical treatment.

  • Participation is voluntary and at your own risk. If you have any concerns about whether Tai Ji Quan or Qi Gong is suitable for your health, please consult your doctor before attending.

  • If you have any injuries or health conditions that may affect your practice, kindly inform the teacher privately before class.

  • Shun Wu Tang Center is not liable for injuries or discomfort experienced during or after class.

4. Personal Belongings

  • Please keep your personal items with you or stored securely in the practice area.

  • Shun Wu Tang Center is not responsible for the loss, theft, or damage of belongings before, during, or after classes.

5. Community and Practice

  • All levels are welcome — whether you are new or experienced. Everyone progresses at their own rhythm.

  • Regular attendance helps support your personal development and the energy of the group. If you are unable to attend consistently, please inform the teacher.

  • Recording or photographing during class is not permitted unless the teacher gives explicit permission.

  • Together, we uphold the values of discipline, humility, and mutual respect — the heart of the Shun Wu Tang tradition.

We thank you for your presence and dedication.

Let us walk this path with sincerity, focus, and joy — cultivating strength, stillness, and awareness in motion and in life.
