Shun Wu Tang: The ''Ten laws'' of Kung Fu
The Ten Laws of Kung Fu are universal principles based on Wu De (武德), the martial virtues of integrity, respect, and discipline. They apply to everyone, regardless of culture or background, because they promote values that help build strong character and skill.
In the Luo Han Kung Fu Tradition, these laws are not strict rules meant to punish you. Instead, they are practical guides designed to help you succeed in your training, improving your combat ability, enriching your life, and expanding your mind.
There is no legal requirement to follow these laws, They are not enforced by any court. Their power comes from your own choice to accept them because you see how they support your physical, emotional, and mental growth. When you commit to these laws, you create the conditions for true progress and harmony in your practice.
If a student repeatedly breaks these laws despite clear warnings, they may be asked to leave, not as a punishment, but because the school’s training is meant for those who are sincerely dedicated. Following the Ten Laws is a personal commitment, a path chosen freely to develop not just skills, but also honor and self-discipline.
If you wish to deepen your understanding and embody these values more fully, studying Wu De (武德), the traditional martial virtues, is highly recommended. By embracing these laws, you join a tradition of martial artists who train with respect for themselves and others, aiming to live with balance, joy, and strength.
